StorHub Wins ESG Initiative Award At The SSAA’s Inaugural Self Storage Awards Asia 2022

StorHub is pleased to announce that we have won the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Initiative Award at the inaugural Self Storage Awards Asia 2022 ceremony that was held online on 30 March 2022 and hosted by the Self Storage Association Asia (SSAA). We are immensely appreciative of all StorHub staff who have taken part in our ESG efforts thus far and are thankful for our customers who have been relentlessly supportive throughout this journey.

The overarching ESG goal that StorHub has set is to take consistent steps to make it a part of our identity:

• Environmental: We value our environment greatly and have been and will continue to look after the environment that we, our loved ones and everyone else live in through strengthening our capabilities for environmental sustainability. StorHub has done so by substituting 20% of our existing energy consumption with green energy since the installation of solar panels at our storage facilities. Throughout the year of 2021, StorHub made a joint effort to collect a substantial amount of recyclables comprising of paper, metal and plastic. We also make it a point to use energy-efficient LED lights rather than fluorescent lights to consume less electricity. On top of that, our StorHub Toa Payoh facility has a lush rooftop garden. The green roof system decreases up to 90% of heat transmission from the facility, and offers biophilic features for access to both direct and indirect nature to improve the environment that we work in. Electric vehicle charging stations are also available at the same storage facility for those who wish to play a part in leaving a positive impact on the environment to encourage more vehicles on our roads to run on clean energy.
• Social: We do our part in giving back to the community to help better their lives as best as we can. At StorHub, we prioritise taking care of the wellbeing of our employees through providing annual health screenings and dental benefits. Training hours are being set aside and we strive to meet the targeted hours, promoting continuous learning for all. Within our workplace, we replenish healthy food and beverage options, and give out free healthy fruits for all to enjoy. StorHub places great importance in giving back to the community by setting aside volunteer hours for our staff, allowing everyone to proactively take part in volunteer activities. We have become an enabler through joining forces with our CSR partners Angel Hearts, Australian & New Zealand Association, Make a Wish Foundation, Singapore Kindness Movement, Metta Welfare Association, Players Theatre, Pangdemonium, Books Beyond Borders, and Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore (MINDS).
• Governance: StorHub runs the business through upholding high standards of integrity, transparency, and good corporate governance, with a code of ethics and other company policies in place to ensure that we conduct our business in an honest and ethical manner.

StorHub is honoured to receive this award which recognises our ESG efforts and look forward to continuously making strides in our ESG endeavours in Hong Kong, China, Korea, Japan, Thailand and Malaysia where StorHub has expanded into.
